The T Level in Digital Support and Security is a two-year Level 3 qualification, equivalent to three A Levels, designed for students aged 16–19 who are looking to develop specialist skills in digital technologies, IT support, and cyber security. The course combines classroom learning with a substantial industry placement of at least 315 hours, giving students valuable real-world experience alongside technical knowledge.

Students will develop an understanding of digital environments, security principles, data management, and the maintenance of secure and reliable IT systems. The qualification is ideal for learners who are interested in technology, problem solving, and supporting modern digital infrastructure.

Outline

Throughout the course, students will cover a range of core topics including:

Digital technologies and their use within business
Cyber security principles and risk management
Data analysis and digital environments
Ethical and legal requirements within the digital sector
Project management and professional practice
Cloud technologies and digital infrastructure

Students will also specialise in Digital Support and Security, focusing on maintaining secure systems, diagnosing faults, and supporting users within modern IT environments.

As part of the programme, students will complete a minimum 315-hour industry placement with an employer. This provides valuable hands-on experience and allows students to apply their knowledge in a professional setting while developing employability skills.

Entry Requirements

Students are required to have achieved 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or higher, including English language and Maths.
